NONET is a cooperative apartment project with a total of 9 units, with 3 floors located above ground and 1 basement floor. The building is located in the Meguro district of central Tokyo where real estate comes at a premium. Therefore the buildings design was focused on creating a maximum floor area yield and simultaneously giving each unit a unique spatial quality and identity.
All above ground floors feature open corner windows whilst the basement floor features large open windows connecting the interior to subterranean gardens. These gardens fill the void between the building and the edge of the site maximizing the utility of the oddly shaped plot. The cobble stone approach and wood textured concrete give the apartment a uniform and modern esthetic with a subtly rustic materiality.
The different floor plans of all the units - four flats and five maisonette - are designed to accommodate the wide range of lifestyles of the residents. Each individual unit had a unique interior design tailored to the residents needs and taste.
